Teiresias..

Teiresias is discussing with Oedipus on the crisis arised in Thebes when he makes Oedipus miserable. Oedipus starts to abuse the prophet verbally as he thought that he has been betrayed. It foreshadows the later scene when the prophet warns the king and telling him that he is the one who is actually blind. Teiresias is the first character who questions about Oedipus's parentage. He also mentioned that Oedipus is the one who kills his own father and fathered children with his mother. Teiresias remains ne of the most powerful character in the play.

I agree of what Nadia's said in her blog. from the title itself it seems suggest that Oedipus is the most powerful character in this play. but the truth is not, from what i already read about the play, what i can see is Tiresias is the most powerful and influencing character. this is because Tiresias plays a bigger role on the downfall of Oedipus's life. He represented as the person who had left a great impact of Oedipus life after his revelation on the truth. besides that Tiresias is represented as the sight and truth even though he is blind and Oedipus is represented as the weaker character, blind because he cannot see the truth and as a tragic hero because experience the tragic flaw in his life.
